Day 3: 6350
Finished Chapter 3 and on to the next. My story is in first person with two narrators that ideally would alternate in the completed story, but for now I am writing them somewhat separately, since that feels easier. When I’m in Evadne’s head I could car less what happened to her mother 16 years ago… until a certain point in the story when she will necessarily be wondering about her mother’s past – maybe that will be a good point to jump back and start writing the mother;s point of view.
I need a day off. From work. Which I have, tomorrow. I think Cat Valente said something in her presentation about having a day job and trying to write a novel in a month not being the best idea. It’s not so bad. So far the writing hasn’t been so hard, and I can bang it out in 3 hours or less, but I want a little more freedom. So, I look forward to tomorrow. I’m going to try breaking up the writing a little bit. Also, because I have a few necessary house things to do like laundry, return bottles, dishes, etc. I’m also going to prepare a lovely little meal for some guests. I rarely cook beyond the very simplest of terms, but I find I enjoy it a lot when I do. I’m planning on making something that will have to simmer for an hour and steal a writing moment.
